Playa Conchal is a great beach to visit for all ages. It is great for snorkeling and scuba diving. The sand on the North side of the beach is closer to what someone would think of as “Playa Conchal”, which means “Shell Beach”. The sand looks like whole shells put into a blender that exploded. The water is normally calm and good for swimming on the North side, but the closer towards the middle of the beach and the south side there becomes a strong underwater drop off very close to shore, but once past that, swimming is fine. I would not recommend this beach for surfing. This beach is a great place to go with younger children or for a picnic.
